Roza on the day of Arafaat

Questions for the seeker of truth

It is mentioned in Baihaqi and Musannaf Ibn Abdir Razzaaq that Hadrat Masrouq (Radiyallahu anhu) came to Hadrat Aisha (Radiyallahu anha) on the day of Arafaat. Hadrat Aisha (Radiyallahu anha) requested that Hadrat Masrouq (Radiyallahu anhu) be served Saweek (A dish made of wheat and date). Hadrat Masrouq (Radiyallahu anhu) didn't fast on that day out of precaution in case that day may be Eid in Makkah. However Hadrat Aisha (Radiyallahu anha) was fasting.

Hadrat Masrouq (Radiyallahu anhu) asked Hadrat Aisha (Radiyallahu anha) :
"O mother of the believers, are you fasting today? Who knows it may be Eid in Makkah today?"

Hadrat Aisha (Radiyallahu anha) : "The day of eid is the day celebrated by the head of the state and the grand majority."

Questions to those who claim that one should fast when the Haaji are actually in Arafaat:

1. Where is it mentioned in the Hadith that one should fast when the Haaji would be in Arafaat on the 9th of Zil Hijjah? This has been an addition to the Hadith.

2. During the time of the Sahaabah-e-Kiraam (Radiyallahu Anhum), it was not only difficult but impossible to know when the moon was sighted in Makkah. Would Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) command the Sahaabah-e-Kiraam  (Radiyallahu Anhum) to do something which is impossible? No! This means they understood that the fasting on the day of Arafaat should be the 9th of Zul Hijjah in their respective locality which was all that was in their capacity at that time.

3. When Nabi (Sallallaahu A'laihi Wasallam) advised to fast on the day of Arafaat, did the Sahaabah-e-Kiraam (Radiyallahu Anhum) ask how will they know when the Haaji would be in Araafaat? No! That means they understood it to be the 9th of Zil Hijjah as per the visibility of the moon in their location.

4. Let's assume that one should fast when the Haaji are in Arafaat. How will the Americans do as they are about 8 hours before Makkah? When they start fasting the Haaji would have left Arafaat already. How about the Australians? They would have completed the fast when the Haaji would have reached Arafaat.

Reflect, O those of intelligence!! (Al Qur'aan)
