A revolutionary conception

"Hissab Kitaab" is an expression used to state that there is a Hisaab, that is, an account to be rendered in the life after death for whatever we have done in this Dunya. And Kitaab means the register or the book that records everything that we have done in this Dunya.

To believe in life after death whereby there will be an account for our actions committed in this Dunya is a revolutionary conception. This belief is able to transform a person’s life. It makes him think carefully before carrying out his actions or words. He is aware that he is being watched. He will behave responsibly in life due to this. Before harming others, he knows that he is actually harming himself. This is not a means to prevent him from doing what he wants. Rather it is a means to limit and control his ferocity and hostility towards others. Gradually it can become a means for him to reason and transform him into a wise and responsible person.
