Know the worth of your life

You should know how to preserve the value of the life that Allah Ta’ala has bestowed upon you. A person who knows the value of something will know how to use it based on its worth. You will never see anyone wearing beautiful clothes to clean his garden or his house. Have you ever seen a mechanic wearing a beautiful white-like-milk outfit and repairing an engine full of grease?

If you have seen someone like that, it could be someone who may have fled from the mental asylum. But someone who is really sane will not do such a thing. 

All this happens when a person does not know the value of something. 

The life which Allah Ta’ala has given us is something very precious and very valuable. It is a means and an opportunity that Allah Ta’ala has given us to prepare for our Aakhirah, that is, our life after death. Life in this world is granted only once. We will not get it again. Normally, when we know that we will not get something again, then people tend to take maximum benefit from it. Thus, we should make the most of the life that Allah Ta’ala has granted us.

Now, we should see how we will get the most out of this life. If we live this life according to our desire and our passion, we will not get any benefit after death. On the contrary, we will mortgage our Aakhirah. The punishment will start from the Qabr itself. But if we develop a little willpower and we live our lives according to the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala, then we will be in well-being, in Dunya and in Aakhirah.

A person, who wastes his life in fulfilling his passions, desires and in entertainment, is like a person who is cleaning the street, dressed in white clothes or like a person who is carrying a basket of impurity in his beautiful Mercedes. It is someone who is really ignorant and who does not know the value of something very precious because Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said that a person who is truly intelligent is a person who keeps himself under control and who does work that is beneficial and profitable for the life after death.
