Faasiq

A Faasiq is one who commits a major sin or one who persists on a minor sin. A person denigrates himself by committing sins and renders himself unworthy. He shows that he is shameless. That is why the testimony of such a person is not acceptable. It is very sad that a person can be honourable in the eyes of people but has no value in the eyes of Allah Ta'ala. True honour is the honour that a person has in the eyes of Allah Ta'ala. It is an honour that remains and is certain. Thus, the true honourable one is not the person whom people carry on the shoulders in triumph but it is a Muttaqi or someone who is firm in his Deen. A serious person in Deen is a person who assumes his duty towards his Creator and his fellows according to the principles taught by Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam).

A sin is a sin and it is very grave because it means disobeying Allah Ta'ala who is showering His favours on us at every moment. Therefore, sin is ingratitude and ingratitude anyhow is not a good character. Those who speak of good manners must bear in mind that they will not have good manners as long as they do not stop disobeying their Creator.
