A simple and easy prescription

It is very easy to become close to Allah Ta'ala or what is termed as Waliyullah. One merely has to do one thing. Then, one is free to do whatever one wants. There is just one thing to refrain from. When one does this, one will not have to do a lot of Ibaadah. Besides the essential Ibaadah, a little extra Ibaadah will also be a lot! One must only abstain from sins. This itself suffices. One will not only become a good person but will become the best of people.

Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: Avoid the things which are forbidden, one will become the greatest Aabid (a person who does Ibaadah) of all. Here is a prescription that is very easy and very simple to gain proximity to the greatest of all, Allah Ta'ala.

According to what Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, a person does not become the greatest Aabid by doing a lot of Ibaadat, rather he gets that honour by abstaining from sins. The more he avoids sins, the closer he gets to Allah Ta'ala. That is, to abstain from sins is the greatest of Ibaadah.

To avoid committing sin is not difficult. But it requires the will and everyone can develop the will by staying in the company of those who have the will and by supplicating to Allah Ta'ala. When a person invokes Allah Ta'ala sincerely, Allah Ta'ala grants him whatever he asks for. If a person asks Allah Ta'ala for firmness and stability in Deen, there is no reason for Allah Ta'ala not to answer his Dua. But one must continue to ask. Some people may make excuses that many times they have tried but they could not remain stable. But it is very simple. Whenever a contrariety/misdeed occurs, one should merely make Taubah and continue the journey. This is also a kind of stability that has its value in the eyes of Allah Ta'ala. But one must not give up.
