Living according to one's desires

When the relationship between a young girl and boy has been fixed and consented by the parents then what remains to be done? It is very simple. One must marry them off as soon as possible. Why should there be delay in marrying them off? Some present the excuse that things are not ready. This is due to the house not being ready yet or the boy or girl not having completed their studies or the family deciding to organise a big wedding and the preparations are not done yet. Or the brother or sister is abroad and have no holidays as yet. Thus, one is waiting for their holiday to celebrate the wedding. But in the meantime the boy and the girl are already communicating. This communication may be very far-reaching. Every step of this communication is called Zina by the Shari'ah. Each stage is more serious than the other. This takes place openly in front of the whole family. This can be called a Zina which is committed with the complicity of the family. What is understood is that they are ready to commit Haraam at all levels. However, when it comes to making it Halaal, they are not ready! Nobody sees anything strange or abnormal. Everything happens in front of us without the slightest disgust. It is a state of mind that indicates lowliness that makes us descend to a level where Insaaniyat does not exist.

It was possible to stop all these blunders easily. It would be easier in terms of time, finance and energy. Their Nikah could have been performed in simplicity so that both could be Halaal for each other. But one fears and is ashamed of what people will say. One must know that what people want us to do is not right because it is against the law of Allah Ta'ala. It is not according to the Mubaarak principle of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam). Allah Ta'ala has shown us a way. We should adopt this path. We should not follow the fantasies of people who do not know or who pretend not to know or those who no longer have the will to practice what they know.

"And We have placed you on the right path of Deen, so follow it and do not follow the desires (fantasies) of those who do not know." (S45/ V18)
