Taking pills so as not to get Haiz

Question:

Is it permissible for a woman to take pills for her not to get Haiz (menstruation) during the month of Ramadhan or during Hajj?

Answer:

It is better for a woman not to take pills or anything else to control her Haiz for the sake of fasting or Hajj. It is better that she lets it follow its normal course and replaces the fasts that she missed afterwards. It is in this way that the women used to perform their fasts and Hajj during the time of Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam).

But nowadays, we are aware that there is a problem concerning Hajj. That is, we are not free to enter or leave Makkah whenever we want. It is not up to us. It is decided by another instance. That is why it is permissible for a woman to take it if she wants in order to avoid inconvenience. In regards to Roza also, there is the problem of many women not having the will after Ramadhan to replace the fasts that they missed during Haiz. Thus, because of this also, they can take pills. Rather do something that is not feasible than doing something that is very reprehensible.
