Resistance against sins

The difficulty that a person faces in remaining in the obedience of Allah Ta’ala is better than all enjoyment. A thorn that pricks the heart due to resistance against sins is better than all flowers. Hazrat Yusuf (Alaihis Salaam) preferred going to prison rather than accepting the invitation of the women who had tried to tempt him to commit sins.

The disobedience of Allah Ta’ala is like a fire that is always burning in the heart and that ruins the life of the person as long as he does not extinguish it with the tears of Taubah. There is no tranquillity in committing sins. It is like an itching which feels good but is very painful.
