Keeping photos in the house

Surah means image. The action of representing an image is called Tasweer. According to the Shari’ah, Tasweer (representation of an image) of something that has a life through any means is Haraam.

There are several ways to reproduce an image such as drawing, engraving, embroidery, photography, sculpturing or filming. To reproduce the image of something that has a life through any means among these is Haraam.

The angels of blessing do not enter a house where there are such images. Similarly, it is Haraam to frame the photos of children, friends, actors, actresses, footballers or even an Aa'lim and expose them in the house. By such practices, we expose ourselves, our house and our family to Divine wrath.
