Good fortune and bad fortune

Good fortune and bad fortune, both, lies solely in the hands of Allah Ta’ala. It does not lie in the hands of anyone besides Him. If you think that your good fortune lies in having the person whom you love in your life, then you are wrong. The good fortune that you are looking for, day and night like the poorest beggar going from door to door, is in the hands of your Rabb who has created you. So, you have been knocking at the wrong door all this time. You did not knock at the door that you should have knocked at.

Yesterday, you had a sleepless night awaiting midnight. You had lighted firecrackers, you had fun and you were extremely joyful. How many curses have emanated from the hearts of people who have been indisposed by the big firecrackers that you have lit? Are you satisfied today with what you did yesterday? You should agree that you have regretted what has happened yesterday. Do you know why you are sad today even though yesterday you have enjoyed yourself a lot? It is because you have sought enjoyment in the disobedience of your Creator! You had fun causing harm to the next person. You have worried about yourself only. You have not thought about your friend. The itch has, without doubt, given you the sensation to scratch vigorously. People tell you not to scratch. It is not good. However, you found it right and you were relieved. You thought that people are depriving you of your good fortune? However, what happened next? Your whole body was inflamed. This is what happens when a person has fun by disobeying his Creator. He thinks that his good fortune lies in this enjoyment, but in reality, it lies in being sincere towards Allah Ta’ala.
