Learning from anywhere

You do not buy vegetables at the pharmacy. You do not have your car repaired by a doctor. And no one learns medicine from a mechanic. Don't you see that you have underestimated Deen by learning it from just anywhere? Deen is such an important and sensitive thing that it cannot be learned properly merely through books. It must be studied from a person who really has the knowledge of Deen. Otherwise, you will end up being guided by a blind person who will cast you into the precipice. As Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, there will be a time when people will take such ignorant people as leaders who will be deviated and who will mislead others also. Therefore, the knowledge of Deen cannot be accrued from just anywhere. It should be acquired from a person who has true knowledge of Deen and practices Deen. According to a Hadith, Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said that when the work of Deen is entrusted to those who are not competent, then await Qiyaamah.
