Seeking ease

Everyone wants to have ease in life. And it is everyone’s legitimate right. According to the Shari’ah also, it is better to opt for ease. Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) also was choosing what is easier when he had a choice between two permissible things. 

Therefore, seeking ease is something that is absolutely natural and normal. This means that if a person makes his life difficult despite having facility, he is not a normal person.

Allah has made our lives easy. He did not put any burden on us. If we complicate our lives now, it means that we do not want to live a normal life. For example, a simple clothing can be worn for a wedding. Allah did not force us to wear expensive clothes. On the contrary, Allah Ta’ala has prohibited us from extravagance. Despite this, we buy expensive clothes for a wedding. That is why we have to make sacrifices and borrow. We burden our spouse. In doing all these, we neglect many important things. Salaah had to be missed – It could not be done on time. All this is due to complicating our lives by preoccupying ourselves with useless and unnecessary things.

Therefore, ease lies in simplicity which in turn renders our life easy. It is a way of life that is loved by Allah Ta’ala and has been recommended by Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam). Nonetheless, it is important to seek our facility without causing harm to anyone. A person, who looks for ease despite causing harm to others, is a selfish person. A selfish person is not a good person. In the long run, his life also is destroyed because no one loves such a person. So, it is very important for each person to take the next person into consideration before seeking his ease.
