SALAFI AND 20 RAK'AAT OF TARAWEEH

Salaf are the Sahaabah-e-Kiraam (Radiyallahu Anhum), Taabi'in and Tabi Taabi'in. To be Salafi means to follow the principles of those who lived in these three eras. We all know that the Sahaabah-e-Kiraam (Radiyallahu Anhum) agreed upon 20 Rak'aat of Taraweeh and this continued to be practiced during the eras of the Taabi'in and Tabi Taabi'in.

Hence, if a person claims to be Salafi without accepting 20 Rak'aat of Taraweeh, then this seems to be very strange. The title of Salafi does not suit him. It is a false claim. Regardless of the title that one may give oneself, if one goes against the principles of those three epochs, this suffices to be disqualified as a good Muslim.
