Wishing for misfortune

There is no good fortune in wishing for the misfortune of a person. On the contrary, it is very unfortunate for a person to wish for the misfortune of the next person. By wishing for the misfortune of the next person, a person renders himself miserable. Night and day, he keeps worrying about the next person. This troubles him and harms his health. And he develops an illness which cannot be diagnosed by the doctor. On the other hand, if one loves the next person and wishes for his well-being and the well-being of his close ones, this is a means of attracting the blessings of Allah Ta’ala upon one. When one has the blessings of Allah Ta’ala on one, what is the cause of worry?

Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:

"... The one who relieves a Muslim of a difficulty, Allah Ta’ala will relieve him of a difficulty on the day of Qiyamah."
