WEALTH
According to the Shariah, there are three degrees of wealth:
- Wealth that makes Zakaat Waajib - that is, when one possesses, in addition to one's basic necessities and after deducting one's debts, 90 grams of gold or 630 grams of silver or their equivalent in the form of cash or goods. In this case, Sadaqat-ul-Fitr and Qurbani are Waajib. Obviously, a person who pays Zakaat does not have the right to take it.
- 2. Wealth that makes Sadaqat-ul-Fitr and Qurbani Waajib but not Zakaat - that is, owning, in addition to one's basic necessities and after deducting one's debts, the equivalent of 90 grams of gold or 630 grams of silver in any form - in cash, dishes, furniture, clothing, etc. This wealth does not make Zakaat Waajib, but in this case too it is forbidden to take Zakaat or Sadaqat-ul-Fitr.
- Wealth that makes neither Zakaat, nor Sadaqat-ul-Fitr nor Qurbani Waajib - that is, owning a quantity of objects or other things with which one can satisfy one's necessities for at least one day, or else, if one is in good health and has the courage to work to provide for one's needs despite having nothing. In this case, one is permitted to take Zakaat and Sadaqat-ul-Fitr, but it is forbidden (Haram) to ask for it.
