Question

What is the general Islamic ruling for a Muslim to eat in a non Muslim snacks or restaurant which is not certified by any halal authority?

Answer

Halaal food is very essential for the acceptance of our good actions and duas. Even if we are not taking alcoholic drinks we are not allowed to sit around a table where these drinks are being served. So for the sake of our Imaan and A'maal and for the acceptance of our duas we should keep away from similar restaurants. This rule is applied to foods and stuffs that need to be verified and certified. Otherwise we should be very cautious about meat products. A halal certification from a reliable halal body will be very helpful to identify halal from non-halal, but reliable halal body will give certificate to these similar restaurants with very strict conditions such as appointing a reliable Muslim as supervisor etc.
