A lowly act

If one hears someone speaking ill about someone, one should not relate it to him because that will not please him. It is not good to spoil the mood of a person by narrating to him negative things which people have said about him. Besides, there is no benefit in knowing what people think of him. However, if he is doing something evil, then one must look for some other way which is more appropriate and effective to remedy the situation.

What purpose can a person have by speaking regarding someone to someone else? In general, people do it out of spite and malice. Most of the time, people want to sow disorder and want to harm others and they do this out of jealousy. The person who receives this information thinks that the person is rendering him a service. But in reality, he is causing him great harm because he cannot see him happy. Thus, he gives him information that makes him sad and upset his life. It is a lowly act and it is very harmful for the Aakhirah because according to the sayings of our Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam), such a person will not enter Jannah. Thus, one must not expect to be in well-being in the Aakhirah when one is making the life of a person hell in the Dunya.
