Allah Ta'ala does not look at one's appearance

Allah Ta'ala does not look at one's body or appearance, rather He looks at one's heart. (Muslim)

Note:

The essential thing in a person is his interior. A beautiful appearance will only be beneficial when the heart of a person is good and sincere. The beauty of a person will not make him enter Jannah if his interior has no light and effulgence of Imaan. But one must not believe that appearance is of no importance. There are things that Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) commanded one to do in regards to one's appearance. For example: to keep a beard, to trim the moustache, to wear the trousers above the ankles, to cut the nails etc. This shows that appearance is also important however the interior is more essential and more important than appearance. Besides, a person whose interior is good, his appearance will also be good. And normally, it is the shortcoming of the interior that leads to a shortcoming in appearance.
