Clothing

The purpose of clothing is to cover the body. As far as possible, the form of the body should not be exposed. When we allow the form of the body to be exposed, it is just as if we did not cover our body. It may be due to such reasons that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:

"There are women who are clothed but are (in actual fact) naked ..." (Bukhari, Muslim)

Conceal your wife

Conceal your wife just as you conceal your fortune. You are afraid in case a person casts an evil eye on your wealth but you are not afraid that a person might cast an evil gaze on your wife. Yet, your wife is your honour. Your wife is your dignity. Your wife is your greatest fortune. Your wife is your greatest wealth. Rasulullah (Sallallaahu A'laihi Wasallam) said:

"... The best fortune in Dunya is a pious wife." (Muslim)

What does Sunnah mean?

Sunnah means principle. According to the Shari’ah, when we say Sunnah, we mean the principle of our beloved Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam).

One more thing...

There is one more thing that many of us do not think to hide. It is our body. Previously, people had no knowledge. That is why they did not know how to dress properly. However, today, with all the knowledge that we have, we claim not to know how to dress. Allah Ta’ala has created us an Insaan. The difference between an Insaan and other creatures is clothing. Not only should we dress, but we should also dress decently.
