OUT OF CONTEXT

Allah Ta’ala has given every person a type of beauty in a particular way. The physical beauty of some people lies in their hair. For others, it lies in the eyes, nose, etc. However, all these parts of the body should be in their original place in order for their real beauty to be seen.

Throwing stones

“If your house is made of glass, you should not throw stones at the house of the next person.”

ISSUING FATWA

Training is required before carrying out anything. Without training, nothing turns out right. Without good training, a person cannot mount a rubber on a rim. Regarding such a job, one may read something to this effect that says: "The bursting of the tyre may be due to a bad mount on the rim. The assembling or dismantling must only be carried out by people who have received adequate training."

Grudge against an Aa'lim

"The one, who keeps a grudge against an Aa'lim without any apparent reason, is a Kaafir." (AL-Khulaasah)

[English version of "Garde rancune avec ene ‘Aalim" – Al Jamiat – Vol.2 No.5]

Reflection

"The flesh of Ulama is poisonous. Whoever eats it, dies." (Ibn-Ous-Subki)

[English version of "La chair banne ‘Oulama li poisonneux" – Al Jamiat – Vol.2 No.7]

Learning from anywhere

You do not buy vegetables at the pharmacy. You do not have your car repaired by a doctor. And no one learns medicine from a mechanic. Don't you see that you have underestimated Deen by learning it from just anywhere? Deen is such an important and sensitive thing that it cannot be learned properly merely through books. It must be studied from a person who really has the knowledge of Deen. Otherwise, you will end up being guided by a blind person who will cast you into the precipice.

Giving Fatwa without competence

It is Haraam for a person, who has not been professionally trained by the professionals in Deen, to do Tafseer or give Fatwa. If a person knows English, French, Urdu or Arabic, this does not allow him to take a book of Tafseer or a book of Fatwa to educate people if he is not trained in this field. In each field, there is something called "competence". A person, who is not trained, is not competent. So, doing a work without competence is called "deceiving".
